How the Truth or Dare Wheel works

The Truth or Dare Wheel selects a prompt category, not the prompt itself. The group should agree on suitable questions, challenges, boundaries, and a pressure-free skip rule before play begins.

Agree on boundaries first

Set age-appropriate limits for privacy, physical activity, recording, contact, substances, money, and public posting before the first turn.

Keep a clear skip option

Anyone should be able to skip a question or challenge without explanation, pressure, ridicule, or a substitute punishment.

The wheel does not create prompts

The default entries choose Truth or Dare. Prepare a separate approved prompt list, or replace the entries with specific safe prompts.

Practical ways to use the Truth or Dare Wheel

Friends, families, youth groups, and remote callers can use the wheel when every participant understands the rules and can decline a prompt without penalty.

Choose the prompt type

Spin Truth or Dare, then use a prompt from a list that the participants have already agreed is suitable.

Add house-rule options

Expand the entries with Skip, Choose, Group Challenge, or another safe category that fits the group.

Keep remote turns moving

Use the visible result during a call, while avoiding challenges that depend on an unsafe or unknown environment.

Set up the Truth or Dare Wheel

Prepare consent, boundaries, and prompts before using the wheel. A random category never overrides a participant choosing not to answer or act.

1. Set the safety rules

Agree on age-appropriate limits, private topics, physical boundaries, recording rules, and an unconditional option to pass.

2. Prepare approved prompts

Write questions and challenges that can be completed safely in the current location without humiliation, risk, expense, or unwanted disclosure.

3. Spin without pressure

Use the selected category for the current turn. Accept a skip immediately and move on without asking the participant to justify it.

Truth or Dare Wheel FAQ

Safety-focused answers about prompts, consent, boundaries, and group rules.

How do we keep truth or dare comfortable?+

Agree on boundaries before playing, let anyone skip without pressure, avoid dangerous or humiliating challenges, and choose prompts suitable for the participants ages, relationships, and location.

Does the wheel provide truth questions or dares?+

The default wheel only selects Truth or Dare. Prepare a separate reviewed prompt list, or replace the two entries with specific prompts that the whole group has approved.

How are results selected on the Truth or Dare Wheel?+

The browser chooses one visible entry with the Web Crypto API before the animation begins. Every visible slice has the same probability. Repeating a label creates another slice, so remove accidental duplicates when each label should have one chance.

How can I save changes to the Truth or Dare Wheel?+

Changes save automatically in local browser storage on this device. Use the export control to create a versioned .wheel file when you need a separate backup or want to move the setup to another browser. The site does not use accounts or cloud synchronization.
